Welcome to the Fisherman's Roost. The Roost is a portable building located in a hardwood forest setting along the Grand River. It is nothing fancy... and is designed to accommodate up to 4 people.
The "Roost" was originally intended for steelhead fishermen in the spring or fall wanting accommodations right on Trout Alley along the Grand River. But it is also available for couples & family use.
Because of the wilderness setting the portable unit no longer has hydro or running water. We do supply well drinking water in 20L jugs.
We have a kerosene heater for the cabin and an outdoor gas barbeque... bring your own fuel or you can purchase a full propane/kerosene tank from us for $20.
Washroom facilities are an outhouse / thunderbox.
You need to supply your own bedding, sleeping bags and pillows.
There is a picnic bench and campfire pit with benches and cooking grill. We provide a saw to cut your own firewood
There are no poisonous snakes or dangerous wild animals like bears... but if you leave food out raccoons will steal it.
The campsites are located in the woods around this 25 acre field which the Grand River borders.
The portable does have vehicle access but is not suitable for low profile vehicles... there is a 70ft descent to come down.
