Learn to Fish Lessons & Fishing Trips on Ontario's Grand River.
Grand River Rafting fishing partners offer fly fishing lessons, fly fishing walk & wade trips and fly fishing drift boat excursions.
If you don’t fly fish, but do regular fishing (spin cast), we have partners that offer a basic “learn to fish” course… as well as guided walk & wade trips, kayak fishing and drift boats.


Fly Water Guiding Services & Lessons
For fly fishing lessons, it is a ratio of 1:1-4 people, with a maximum of 12. Lessons include all equipment, setup & knots, casting instruction, fly patterns & insects, reading the water, safety, conservation and etiquette. Can customize 2 hour programs… but normally lessons are 4-5 hours.
If wishing a guided fly fishing trip on the Middle Grand. There are two options: “Walk & Wade” or a Drift Boat excursions. trips are 5-6 hours, but again can be customized.

Friends on the Fly
Larry will do fly fishing lessons for 1-4 people, and can join up with other instructors to do larger groups. Lessons include all equipment, setup & knots, casting instruction, fly patterns & insects, reading the water, safety, conservation and etiquette.
Larry also champions many aquatic renewal and stream habitat improvement for trout on many of the local brooks and creeks in the Grand River Valley.

BAER Fishing Adventures
If wishing to do a kayak fishing adventure in the valley, Baer offers a 5-6 hour excursion with all gear supplied. They have the capacity for up to 4 people with a guide and all equipment supplied.
Another option is to do a guided fishing trip in a drift boat down the Grand River. This is a great trip down the river with capacity for 2 people plus the guide.

Our corporate team building programs allow everyone to play regardless of size, age or skill.
The team challenges are based on imagination… with the idea of having fun together.
We use two different setting for our corporate adventures… rafts where you can experience everything together… or a land-based survival cook-off challenge.
Grand River Rafting hosts over 40,000 people yearly… the company is ranked in the top 2% out of 1,700 outdoor adventures in Ontario.

Corporate Team Survival Cook-Off
Survival Description:
This adventure starts with a 1 km guided walk learning wild edible plants and trees along the way. We arrive at the challenge area… try the fresh water springs… and then the contest begins.
- Each team is given a selection of wild edible plants, cooking utensils, a bag of rice and a trout.
- On the word “go”… each team has to build a fire, prepare the edibles, and cook the rice.
- Then they have to “gut” the trout and stuff it with the rice and wild edibles to do a “Master Chef” cook-off.
- After a set time… the judging guides evaluate each team based on food presentation, taste and efficiency of teamwork.
- Winner is announced… and then the teams devour their efforts!
Start Time: With this corporate quest, choose your own start time. Normally takes 2-2.5 hours

Corporate Team Rafting Challenges
Rafting Description:
Experience everything together in our non-tip rafts… friendly for non-swimmers.
The Grand River averages about 1 meter in depth, it is slow moving with some easy rapids.
With our corporate adventures choose your own start time.
Rafting is 3-4 hours… we can customize a shorter trip.
As you paddle down the river… stop to try some fresh water springs… body surf in a river current.. breathe in an amazing wilderness setting.
Along the way… we do 2 of our team building challenges:
1) Fork It Over… each raft has one balloon tied on it… and each raft is equipped with plastic forks… and the goal is to pop the balloon on the other rafts, but protect your own.
2) Noah’s Rock… each team is given duct tape. They must collect wood from the bush, build & design a duct-tape ark that will support a 10 lb rock in a race through rapids on the river.
3) Blind Man’s Race… everyone is blind-folded in the raft except for the chosen”eye”. This person sits in the front to direct. This is a race across the river and back with the “eye”directing their blind folded paddling team!
Price: $55 per person plus HST (minimum price based on $440 per raft).

Life of a Voyageur, try singing, dancing, strength & agility Voyageur games… ending with wooden dancers and playing the spoons. 2 hour session
Sing-Drum Competition

The group is divided into two teams… they do a sing-off against the other team… judged on harmony, volume, sync and sportsmanship.
1.5 hours with Q&A
Group Dancing

Learn about the Anishinaabe culture through story telling, singing, dance and interactive social dancing.
This session is about 90 minutes long with a Q&A after.
Field Games

Learning the field games of the Haudenosaunee people and the spiritual connection with the games. This program includes all equipment
2 hour program
Our Indigenous Native Studies Programs re-polish the chain of friendship between the First Nations and the Allies.
We are about 1 hour from Toronto, Waterloo and London, located near Paris, Ontario.

Wild Teas of the Forest

Tribal Survival
Groups are given compass instructions... have to compass to find their materials for shelter, fire and food.
Without supervision, the team must build a shelter, start a fire and cook a meal.
After a set time period, the instructors arrive at the site, each team presents why they did what!.
Duration 2-3 hours. All material supplied.
