This family business began in 2006, when my son Chad suggested we start an outdoor adventure company. I thought we would “lose our shirts”… because there were already 8 other outfitters on the Grand River.
Our approach had to be different!
We started out with 4 rafts, doing floating classrooms with minimum paddling and maximum learning.
We excelled at the art of being found. Hired people of passion. Developed effective staff training. Partnered and used our success… to help others become successful.
Today, between May to October, over 50,000 people experienced the Grand River with us.
Our goal is to make paddling the Grand… as easy as possible.
We have a capacity to host over of 1,500 people per day with a staff of 60.
We have six operations from Guelph Lake to Grand River to Lake Erie
As for customer service, we are ranked in the top 10% of outdoor adventures in the world by TripAdvisor.
Getting big was never our goal, getting it right… was!

What People are Saying About Us
We had never done this type of activity before, but we definitely will again!
It was really fun! My husband, 8 year old son and I all loved it.
The water current is slow, so even my son was able to paddle his own tube (although you can also tie kids’ tubes to adult ones if you prefer they not paddle alone).
There were some small rapids that were a lot of fun and a place where you can pull over and have a picnic.
It took us 4 hours to get from point A to point B, but we didn’t rush.
Overall a great family activity that I highly recommend if you are in the area.
First time ever! What a blast!
Another hometown adventure crossed off our bucket list!
4 adults, 2 canoes, a packed lunch for 6, enough bottled water and Gatorade for 8!
Cambridge to Paris route – beautiful scenery and more wildlife sightings than we expected.
My first experience of rowing a canoe. Guiding from the helm, who knew we had so many rapids along the Grand? and that the water-breaks were rocks? big rocks…really, really big rocks?
Grand River Rafting Company staff – the best!
Kind, professional and truly friendly service. Thank you!
A Must Do!
