Cancellation Policy
Trips cancelled 48 hours prior to departure will receive a full refund.
Trips cancelled later then 48 hours and up to 7pm on the day before your trip have two options:
- Email or phone us with the decision to lose 25% of payment and get a 75% refund
- Email or phone us with the decision to pick another date during the given season, understanding the reservation is non-refundable for any reason and must be used up before the season ends. There is no carryover into the next year.
If we don’t hear from you before 7pm the day before your trip… that tells us to have all equipment and staff ready because you are coming!
If you cancel on the day of your trip or do not come on the day of your trip, you forfeit your trip and no changes or refunds will be available.
Bad Weather Cancellation Policy
Because the weather apps are generic, they are rather useless in accurately forecasting when bad weather will actually happen in a specific area.
Understand that weather apps are only accurate around 4 hours out.
The weather apps long range forecasts are extremely inaccurate at predicating when or is a storm will arrive.
After years of observing weather apps we find they miss the mark consistently with large error margins in accuracy. Definitely not something you want to base your decisions on.
So, for our customers we do an accurate local forecast on our website based on radar, not apps.
Please check our “weather alert” each day by 7:30am to make sure your trip is a go… Today’s Weather | Grand River Rafting Company
When the river is unsafe or inclement weather is stated, all customers have the following 3 choices:
- You can be come on the time chosen or move your start time around
- Or you can pick another date
- Or you can cancel for a full refund.
We do this so that you are never forced to paddle in bad weather conditions. Also, we do this so that you never have to fear losing your money if bad weather.
Unfortunately, the weather apps take no responsibility for the inaccuracy of their forecasts… they say what they like and walk away!
We have been forecasting weather for over 18 years and are 70% more accurate than any app out there… we take seriously what we say.
So, with Grand River Rafting… if we state bad weather, you don’t have to worry about being forced to come… because our goal is for you to enjoy your trip not endure it!
Hope this helps you understand the accuracy of weather apps… and your options if there is bad weather during the day of your trip when paddling with our company
