Cancellation Policy
Trips cancelled 48 hours prior to departure will receive a full refund.
Trips cancelled later then 48 hours and up to 7pm on the day before your trip have two options:
- Email or phone us with the decision to lose 25% of payment and get a 75% refund
- Email or phone us with the decision to pick another date during the given season, understanding the reservation is non-refundable for any reason and must be used up before the season ends. There is no carryover into the next year.
If we don’t hear from you before 7pm the day before your trip… that tells us to have all equipment and staff ready because you are coming!
If you cancel on the day of your trip… or do not come on the day of your trip, you forfeit your trip and no changes or refunds will be available.
Bad Weather Cancellation Policy
Due to the generic nature of weather apps, they often lack precision in forecasting adverse weather conditions for specific areas.
It is important to note that weather apps are typically accurate only up to approximately four hours in advance. Their long-range forecasts are notably unreliable in predicting the arrival or presence of storms.
Years of observation have shown that weather apps consistently fall short, presenting large margins of error. They are not dependable tools for making decisions.
To better serve our customers, we provide precise local forecasts on our website using radar data rather than relying on apps.
Please check our “weather alert” each day by 7:30am to make sure your trip is a go… Today’s Weather | Grand River Rafting Company
When the river conditions are unsafe or inclement weather is forecasted, all customers have the following three options:
- You may arrive at the scheduled time or adjust your start time.
- You may choose an alternative date.
- You may cancel for a full refund.
We offer these options to ensure you are never compelled to paddle under unfavorable weather conditions and to alleviate concerns about financial loss due to bad weather.
Unfortunately, weather apps do not assume responsibility for their inaccurate forecasts. Our company has been providing weather forecasts for over 19 years, with an accuracy rate that is 70% higher compared to any app available. We take our forecasts seriously and strive for accuracy.
At Grand River Rafting, if we predict bad weather, you can rest assured that you will not be obligated to participate. Our primary goal is for you to enjoy your trip, not endure it.
We hope this clarifies the limitations of weather apps and informs you of your options should there be adverse weather on the day of your trip with us.
