Big Creek Tubing
Big Creek Tubing is like paddling the Canadian Amazon.
Big Creek offers five choices of boats for the 2022 season.
Our prices include boat, PFDs, paddles, safety kits, shuttle ride and parking.
Another Tourism Business Locally Owned and Operated by a Norfolk County Resident.
Trip Description
Big Creek tubing offers some of the best eagle sightings, because you are paddling through a forest.
This meandering river is different from anything else in Ontario. It is narrow and deep, with trees overhanging… and truly fits the description “The Canadian Amazon”.
This is a slow current river, so you will be paddling… it is a 9km adventure.
Big Creek Tubing is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Toronto.
We are certified By Ontario Tourism Safe Traveler Stamp… visit our COVID Health Protocols.
Paddling Skills: Beginner to experienced. Most people average 4.0 to 5.0 hours when tubing this route because of the slow current. If in a canoe, kayak or paddleboard… it takes about 3 hours.
Suggested Ages: 6 years and up. With children, adults can tether the child’s tube to theirs when they get tired.
Suggested Weight: If over 270 lbs… call us to see what boat is best.
How It Works: We have you park at the end point… then shuttle you 9 km upstream to the start… you paddle downstream… with a short 3 km ride back to your vehicle.
Parking & Meetup Area: At the corner of Lakeshore Rd and Hwy 59… on the left right after you cross over Lakeshore Road. DO NOT drive into Long Point…you have gone too far.
Please drive to 157 Front Rd, Port Rowan, N0E 1W0 (must use google, other apps go to wrong location) There is a big sign on the side of the road saying “Grand River Rafting Parking… park at the rear of the building.
This location also has takeout food and gas.

Canoe Kayak SUP Lessons in Ontario
Our kayak lessons, canoe lessons or stand up paddle board (SUP) lessons are held at Brant Park, about 1 hour from Toronto, Waterloo and London, Ontario.
These one hour instructional lessons are designed for beginners or people wishing a refresher on how to paddle a canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board.
The idea is, that you can take a lesson before doing your trip.
Please note that all canoe, kayak and stand up paddle board lessons are only offered on the Paris to Brant Park route. We presently do not offer lessons on the Cambridge or Glen Morris routes.
The Lesson:
The lesson is broken into two parts… land-based instruction, followed by practice time on the water. The idea is to gain confidence and competence.
The land-base instruction covers equipment, how to paddle, types of strokes, getting in & out of the boat and safety awareness.
Practice time on the water covers entry technique, ease of balance, steering and how to do the different paddle strokes.
Once everyone is comfortable, the instructor will get a map and go over the route. Then you are shuttled upstream to take as long as you want paddling back to your vehicle.
Private Instructional Guide Option:
If available, you can hire your own personal guide to do your instructional lesson… then travel with you down the Grand River. The cost is $150 plus HST for the instructional river guide.
Price:
The lesson price for canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board are all the same… $25 plus HST for each person

Paris to Brant Park Trip. With all our trips, you park where your trip ends… and we shuttle you upstream. This trip shuttles you into the picturesque town of Paris. The Paris to Brant Park trip is considered our most gentle paddle. There is a section of fast moving water at the start, followed by more placid waters. It has a picnic site with washrooms along the way, fresh water springs, an old 1830’s mine shaft and spots to swim. Great route for non-swimmers to try!
Glen Morris to Paris Area Trip. This Grand River route starts above Glen Morris at the ruins of an 1867 woolen mill and ends below the stone towers of the Three Sisters (about 3 km above Paris). It has about 1 km of easy splash to paddle, fresh water springs, an island to stop at and spots to swim. The picnic area is at the end point where your vehicle is parked. Because the Grand River averages less then a meter deep in most spots. Enjoyable for non-swimmers.
